Quick answer

What is land freight and how does it work in the UAE and GCC?

Land freight moves cargo by truck. In the UAE it connects the emirates, ports, airports and warehouses, often within a day. Across the GCC it links the UAE with Oman, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Qatar and Bahrain, typically in 1 to 5 days depending on the border and customs. You can book a full truckload (FTL) or share space with a part load (LTL). Aeron Shipping arranges the vehicle, the paperwork and the delivery.

About the service

Trucking Cargo Between the Emirates and Across the GCC

Road freight is the flexible backbone of regional logistics. It carries cargo between factories, warehouses, ports and airports inside the UAE, and across borders to the neighbouring GCC countries where a road link makes it the practical choice.

You can book a whole truck (FTL) for large or time-critical loads, or share a truck with other cargo (LTL) when you only have a few pallets. We match the vehicle to the cargo, from pickups and vans to flatbeds, curtain-siders and refrigerated trucks, subject to availability.

This page explains how land freight works, how it is priced and what to prepare, especially for border crossings. If you would rather skip the reading, send your details on WhatsApp and we will price it for you.

The detail

Planning Cross-Border Road Freight in the GCC

Moving cargo across a GCC border needs the right paperwork: a commercial invoice, a packing list and the consignee details, plus any permits for regulated goods. Customs procedures, border queues and driver permits can change, so we check the current position before the truck leaves and tell you what to expect.

For LTL, cargo is consolidated before departure and separated on arrival, which can add a little time compared with a dedicated truck. For urgent cargo, FTL is usually quicker and simpler.

Pricing

What Decides the Cost of Land Freight

We quote each move on its own. You get an itemised quote with the freight and any extras listed separately.

Get an itemised quote

What moves the price

The same factors apply to every quote.

  • Distance and route. Longer and cross-border routes cost more.
  • FTL or LTL. A whole truck is a flat rate, a part load is priced by space or weight.
  • Vehicle type. Flatbed, curtain-sider or refrigerated trucks are priced differently.
  • Cargo weight and size. Oversized or heavy loads need suitable vehicles.
  • Loading and waiting time. Delays at pickup or the border can add charges.
  • Border and customs. Fees and paperwork for GCC routes.
  • Extras. Packing, insurance and storage if you need them.
